Step 2: Load Cell Retrofit
A new load cell based Tension Control System replaced the existing dancer control system.
Without a precise measurement of the tension throughout the entire process the risk of errors is greatly increased and the capabilities of the machine to run various webs is extremely limited.
The existing idler roller was replaced with either a Montalvo TNT Tension Sensing Roller or could be replaced with a Montalvo Load Cell Roller Assembly.
This closed loop system provides instantaneous tension control which is the backbone to being able to run thinner webs and faster speeds on your press.
