U-3500 Ultrasonic Tension Controller
The Montalvo Ultrasonic Tension Control system offers cost-effective solutions for non-contact, open-loop tension control applications.The MUS-1 sensor together with the compact U-3500 control panel provides a wide range of control configurations for unwind and rewind applications (e.g. slitter/rewinders, coaters, laminators). Based on proven ultrasonic technology and the latest in embedded microcontroller technology, the U-3500 system from Montalvo brings advanced closed-loop system features including softstart, anticoast and inertia compensation, to the open-loop market.
The U-3500, combined with a Montalvo brake, will produce accurate torque proportional to roll diameter. The advantage to this approach is that the web can run directly into the NIP section. When a system has many rolls, the chances that a roll is out of alignment increases. Eliminating contact with a lot of rolls therefore reduces the chance of wrinkling due to alignment issues.
